When Sabrina Pendergast set out to open Orangetheory Fitness’ first location in Visalia, Nexgeneral Construction was proud to help bring the vision to life. This large-scale renovation project involved transforming a partially built space into a fully functional fitness studio.
From complex HVAC work to carefully installing the rubber flooring and preventing bubbling, there were many technical challenges to tackle. We also needed to ensure the design aligned with Orangetheory’s established brand standards since this location is part of the Orangetheory Fitness franchise. Every element, from the lighting and wall finishes to the signature orange accents, was carefully chosen to reflect the company’s brand identity. Despite a tight schedule, the team kept the project on track and delivered great results.

The HVAC installation was one of the most technically demanding aspects of this tenant improvement project. Commercial fitness studios require precise airflow and temperature control to handle high-intensity workouts, and getting it right meant coordinating closely with mechanical subcontractors throughout the build. Getting the rubber flooring installed correctly was equally critical. Improper installation causes bubbling and separation over time, so our team took extra care to ensure a clean, durable finish that would hold up to daily use.
Sabrina had worked with Orangetheory for years before deciding to open her own franchise. This project was more than just a business venture, it was a dream she and her husband had worked toward for a long time and was very meaningful to them.
