As we wrap up another year at Nexgeneral Construction, we find ourselves reflecting on our journey as a company and the growth we’ve experienced. 2024 has been a year of significant milestones, valuable lessons, and exciting projects that have reinforced our commitment to excellence in the construction industry here in our Central Valley.

Favorite Projects

This year, we’ve had the privilege of working on several different projects. However, what truly stands out isn’t always the scale of a project. Excellent communication with the project team,  exceptional teamwork throughout the construction process, and satisfied clients who enjoyed the building experience = a major success! Here are a few projects we loved this year.

Memory Care Expansion at the California Armenian Home: This project is an extension of the California Armenian Home’s Memory Care Facility. The expansion includes the addition of 10,000 square feet creating space for 18 new beds. This project will be delivered a month earlier than scheduled and completed under budget.

Projects with Purpose: Victory Park & Sundale Foundation: The Victory Garden is a beautiful tribute to military veterans and first responders, featuring a central fountain, botanical gardens, and walking paths. The project involved close collaboration with residents and the client, resulting in a space that honors the sacrifices of many brave men and women. The Sundale Foundation’s Legacy Center gives residents a space to gather in the heart of Tulare. The center offers many programs including after-school activities, art classes, counseling services, and a green space that allows families to gather and play. The upgraded facility added newer amenities like walkways, basketball courts, and ADA-accessible spaces.

Kebo Optometric Office Expansion: As Kebo Optometric Group, Inc. in Sanger, California began serving more clients, they needed to expand their office space! We were able to renovate half of the office space while leaving one half fully operable. New floors, finishes, and paint as well as custom granite and steel tables have been a part of bringing this a facelift. The collaborative process with the owner helped us to showcase our ability to work closely with clients to bring their visions to life.

Spacial Surprises: Candy Corner & Malt Shop: The California Armenian Home has made it a goal to creatively transform unused spaces into what they like to call “spacial surprises,” spaces where residents can have fun enjoying their community. The Candy Corner features an array of lighting techniques, wall-mounted candy dispensers, and custom cabinetry. The Malt Shop follows a classic malt shop feel with a checkered floor, LED signage, and a pink and white color scheme.

Growth in 2024

Nexgeneral has experienced significant growth this year. We welcomed several new team members and invested in new technology, substantially increasing our capacity. We’ve learned valuable lessons, both through successes and challenges, reinforcing our commitment to continuous improvement. Our workload increased considerably, pushing us to have important conversations on topics like mental health, so our team can remain healthy, passionate, and focused as we embrace greater responsibility and demanding projects.

Vision for 2025

Looking ahead to 2025, we will continue expanding our team and capacity to do excellent work for our incredible clients while expanding Nexgeneral’s project portfolio. One of our key focuses will be strengthening our estimating and pre-construction processes, to enhance efficiency and speed. By doing this we strive to achieve an even more efficient workload distribution.

Our success is a direct result of our team’s dedication, skill, and shared vision. We’ve navigated challenges together and celebrated numerous victories. As Nexgeneral grows, we’re committed to maintaining a healthy staff culture, creating opportunities for team members to spend more time with their families and enjoy well-deserved vacations.

The momentum we’ve gained in securing new work as well as meeting some amazing new clients has been particularly exciting, and we’re eager to see this continue into the new year. However, no matter how much we grow, we will never depart from the relational model Nexgeneral is built on. Our clients are our partners, and we’re so thankful to work with such incredible people.

In 2025, we will bring our client’s visions to life on time and on budget, provide an enjoyable construction experience for our partners, and build incredible things that add lasting value to our community.
